Both Verizon and Nokia has finally announced a truly innovative fun mobile phone that incorporates an honest unique square shape that swivels open to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard. Called the Nokia 7705, it boasts a 3PM Camera, 2.4-inch QVGA display, EV-DO Rev. 0, HTML browser, and a customized Contact Light Ring that is located in the lower right corner. It is used to identify a message or a call from those listed in the contact directory.

Garmin Next Generation Nuvi 1690 GPS improved with Social Networking capability

Nokia have announced that their new powerful entertainment device for music lovers and social butterflies, the Nokia X6 is now available. Archos Android tablets get priced unofficially

A brand new model of the Archos 5 Internet media tablet emerged on B&H on the first of September, after making a preliminary appearance at the FCC in August.

The listings of the products showed brief pricing for four models of the updated Archos 5, as well as a page for the Archos DVR Station. Leaning on the listings to be accurate, consumers can anticipate seeing 16GB ($293), 32GB ($369), 160GB ($319), and 500GB ($419) versions of the updated Archos 5 hopefully not too far away in the future, on September 15.

The peculiar pricing inconsistency between the $369 32GB Flash memory model and the hard drive based $319 160GB model might likely reflect the relative mass of the hard-drive models compared to the thinner and less fragile Flash versions.

Still there are many unknown secrets that are still waiting to be found such as if or when we will see the white Archos A5S glimpsed from the FCC filing. What would be even more interesting would be to see how these new tablets will power Google’s Android Operating System. Being the first dual-screen laptop ever created it is mainly targeted for professional designers, programmers, filmmakers and the other few who all need two monitors to get their work done quicker and more efficiently, that is the main advantage of this two headed animal. But advantages don’t come without disadvantages either, since 2 screens will suck a lot more juice then 1 screen, and also being estimated at around 12+ pounds, it is much heavier than most laptops out there. The price tag might be the part that is going to bite the most which is estimated at around $3000 as mentioned above.

But you have to admit; with this baby in your hands you could probably increase your efficiency by twice as much. The good news is there won’t be such a long wait to grab your hands on one, hopefully being available on the market by Christmas.

China Unicom agrees to bring iPhone officially into the country

The Apple iPhone is probably one of the most powerful and probably most coveted phones out there. For some people, to live without it would be like trying to live without any food on their plate. But for the people in China, this is what they had to put up with until now!

Previously there was no official iPhone that was being brought into the China market. Luckily there is light at the end of the tunnel since China Unicom has confirmed with Apple to bring in the iPhone to the huge population in the country. This move will hopefully boost iPhone sales and bring it to the next level.

Even though this agreement is in the early stage with a lot of negotiation still going on, it is said that China Unicom will not share the revenue with Apple, as is done by most countries. Instead it will entrust a large sum volume at wholesale pricing before it will resell it to its subscribers with some funding. In addition, the Wi-Fi on the iPhone will be disabled as a tailored feature, because of regulation in the country.

There is one minor problem here that there are already quite a number of ‘unofficial’ iPhones that have been imported directly from overseas which are ‘regulation free’ and might potentially harm the sales especially considering when consumers can compare the full-feature iPhones to the official set provided by Telcos.

Pricing is not yet confirmed but some expect higher hardware pricing to cover the lower service plan rate. The iPhone will land in China hopefully this fall. It is expected that this push iPhone sales higher and gain even more market share.

Exploding and overheating iPhones are not Apple’s fault

According to a report that was published on Friday, Apple states that it is not the one to blame for a sequence of exploding iPhones and iPods. The company has been really feeling the heat for devices that have been overheating and shattering across the UK and Europe. This doesn’t make it look any better for those people who were thinking of buying an iPod or iPhone.

An exploding iPhone investigation has began, and to describe the seriousness of the situation, the European Union actually launched a formal inquiry last week due to a teen in France saying his girlfriends iPhone screen blew up without any warning. Just for a little more info, a piece of glass flew into his eye too. Witnesses informed a local paper that the iPhone even began to "crackle and pop like a deep-fryer”. We wonder if it had the nice smell of deep-fried hot chips, you never know!

You may be thinking that this might have only been a one off situation, but just keep reading below and you’ll see it wasn’t. There were a handful of other complaints in the UK and Europe. One case included a man claiming that Apple tried to keep him from talking by offering him a full refund for a simple signature on a gag order, which he declined. He brought this situation even further to the U.K.'s Times newspaper.

But the company says that it isn’t the one to blame, instead saying that improper handling lead to the series of explosions. A London-based spokesperson told Bloomberg that "in all cases, the glass cracked due to an external force that was applied to the iPhone." On the contrary, the teen from France who quoted by the AP as saying that his girlfriends iPhone "was not dropped and experienced no unusual shock” before the outburst had occurred.

Anyway, the investigation seems to be far from over as Apple representatives met with French government officials to discuss the complaints that have been received and “possible measures” that can be taken. Further tests are said to be conducted by independent experts from the US.
